Determination of the steady-state behaviour of the state variables of a second-order filter with syllabic companding

چکیده
In order to get a better understanding on the concepts of dynamic eigenvalues and dynamic eigenvectors as presented in [1], the steadystate behaviour of the state variables of the filter with syllabic companding described in [2] is determined. For that purpose, the approach presented in [3] is used. Some comments are made regarding the general form of the solution of the Riccati equation involved in the procedure described in [3] and it is proven that the selection of the initial condition required for determining a valid solution which could be used to determine the exact dynamics of the filter is not arbitrary. Besides the computations of the steady-state response of the state variables, the determination of the Floquet exponents assuming that the state equations of the filter are periodic support the hypothesis stated above. Keywords— Syllabic companding, dynamic eigenvalues, dynamic eigenvectors, Riccati equation, Lyapunov transformations, Floquet exponents.

Implementation of a Low- Cost Multi- IMU by Using Information Form of a Steady State Kalman Filter
In this paper, a homogenous multi-sensor fusion method is used to estimate the trueangular rate and acceleration with a combination of four low cost (< 10$) MEMS Inertial MeasurementUnits (IMU). An information form of steady state Kalman filter is designed to fuse the output of four lowaccuracy sensors to reduce the noise effect by the square root of the number of sensors. A hardware isimplemen...

In this study the interaction between self-excited and paramet rically excited oscillations in two-degree-of-freedom systems with quadratic nonlinearities is investigated. The fundamental parametric resonance of the first mode and 3:1 internal resonance is considered, followed by 1:2 internal and parametric resonances of the second mode. The method of multiple time scales is applied to derive f...
متن کاملSteady Flow Analysis and Modeling of the Gas Distribution Network Using the Electrical Analogy (RESEARCH NOTE)
The mathematical modeling of a gas network is a powerful tool in order to identify the behavior of system under the different conditions. The modeling can be performed both for the steady state and unsteady state conditions. It is possible to use the fluid flow basic governing equations or the electrical analogy concept for developing the model. The second approach provides a simpler and more r...
متن کاملTransactions Briefs An Instantaneous and Syllabic Companding Translinear Filter
An inherent characteristic of most translinear (TL) filters is instantaneous companding. This brief describes a distortionless syllabic companding TL filter based on the “analog floating-point technique” [1]. Through the addition of a compensation current to each of the capacitances in the filter, distortion is eliminated. By applying syllabic companding to a TL filter, the input current can be...
متن کاملSyllabic-Companding Log Domain Filters
A general theory for companding log domain filters is proposed which combines not only exponential mappings, but also a new translational mapping approach which guarantees suitable operating conditions in any log domain filter. The filter equations resulting from the use of the theory ultimately contain translinear terms which are known to be realizable using translinear techniques. A discussio...
